Fitness and Bodybuilding especially is such a crazy experience. You challenge yourself everyday. You compare yourself some days . Some days your defeated, some days your ecstatic. In the end of the day it really is “me vs me” I’m trying so hard to be the best version of myself. Really, to be better than I was yesterday, and if I give in to my cravings and food temptations I can’t secure my goals and be the best I could have been physically. In reality the same goes with substance abuse addiction, I’m learning that the more I grow in my fitness the more it relates to my substance abuse recovery journey (7years in November). At the end of the day it is me vs me and I can’t succeed if I give into my cravings. I really have done so much for myself from where I was years ago using drugs to now helping people get off of them. I fight substance abuse through fitness, connection and, safety and I hope to encourage people to do the same, not just substance abuse but mental health too. WE DO RECOVER all you gotta do is start somewhere. WE ALL have to just start somewhere.
